The local Ducati dealer had one. This was #29 of 29 ever made, worth $50,000. I was gawking over it and the manager came out and talked to me, and insisted that I sit on it. The rest of my night consisted of the new Lego 24 hour race car and a Gunniess

When I first looked at the image, I thought "why is he sitting on the bike backwards?". That is a crazy front fork/swingarm/magic thing.

So did seeing it in person and sitting on it allow you to understand how the steering works?
I look at these things and can't see how the wheel pivots/turns. I should probably just use the internet...

Yup, the black rod attached to the front wheel connecting the aluminum engine housing/chassis and the projection of the center of the wheel coming off the brake disk is a steering rod connected to the handle bars. It changes the direction of the wheel steering the bike.

the 911 turbo is remarkably similar to a wrx though. AWD, Boxer, turbo, sometimes manual, overpriced, etc

Yeah, I looked up a video on it after commenting and learned that there is a center mounted vertical spindle that the wheel pivots on. It's very well hidden.
